UniMAP Women’s Day Featured

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 across the world. The objective of Women’s Day celebration in different regions ranges from celebration of appreciation, love and respect towards women to commemorate women’s political, social and economic achievements.

This year, University Health Centre in conjunction with Unit Latihan dan Kompetensi UniMAP, PISKANITA and Klinik Kesihatan Arau organized UniMAP Women’s Day on 4th July 2019. The International Women’s Day theme for 2019 is #BalanceforBetter. Therefore, UniMAP has lined up the celebration with activities focusing on physical health and mental health with message that both physical and mental health are important for a better life. The main activity on this event is Postpartum Mental Health Forum moderated by Medical Officer of Health Centre. Consultant Psychiatrist and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist from Hospital Tuanku Fauziah, Kangar participated as invited speakers.

Apart from the forum, there were women health related activities such as PAP Smears, Breast Screening, Cancer Marker blood tests tailored for Women , healthy food preparing contest and lucky draw. The event was officiated by the PISKANITA Chairwomen, Pn. Fatimah Bt. Danial, witnessed by Chief Librarian and Health Centre Director.
