The University Health Clinic of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) was established to provide medical and health services to all members of the campus community, including UniMAP students and staff.

It began full operations on 2 July 2006 at the Kg Wai Residential College in Kuala Perlis.

On 30 January 2007, the clinic opened an additional branch at the Tan Sri Aishah Ghani Residential College in Wang Ulu to serve approximately 1,000 students residing there.

Later, on 28 December 2009, another branch was officially launched at the Permanent Campus in Ulu Pauh. The clinic was then upgraded to become the University Health Centre (PKU) and has since been operating at PKU, Pauh Putra Campus.

The UniMAP Health Centre began with 28 staff members, comprising 22 clinical personnel and 6 administrative staff.

In line with UniMAP’s growth, the scope of medical and health services has expanded. A Physiotherapy Unit was established and operates at Pusat Perniagaan Pengkalan Jaya, Kangar (UniMAP, Kangar).

As of 26 August 2024, the University Health Centre has relocated to a new building that consolidates all services under one roof. A newly acquired X-Ray machine also began operation following the successful approval of its license by the Radiation Regulatory Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia, on 7 October 2024.

Today, the University Health Centre (PKU) provides health services to the university community, including students, staff, and dependents, in accordance with the Staff Medical Services Scheme (SIHAT) and the Student Health Scheme.
